Freedom Outfitters offers a full lineup of complete bow tech services from simple installation of peep sights, arrows rests, and string accessories, to string and cable replacements, to the most complex tear down and rebuild. Advanced services such as cam adjustments, papering tuning, and timing adjustments are all within a days work for our expert staff.

Our most popular services are string and cable replacements as well as our Professional Tune & Lube and Bow Inspection Services. All services are offered for compound bows and crossbows and ensures your equipment is in optimal shape for the upcoming season.
String & Cable Replacements
Many DIY hunters attempt to replace strings and cables at home with portable bow presses but there is no substitute for having the right equipment and years of experience. Each string and cable replacement is hand tuned by one of our expert techs and ensures you receive:
- Confirmation of proper string/cable length to fit with your exact model bow or crossbow.
- Installation using professional grade bow presses and draw boards to guarantee safe install.
- Proper installation techniques eliminating the risk of equipment damage.
- Cam timing is optimized for peak performance with your new strings/cables.
When strings and cables are purchased in-store, installation services are free of charge. Replacement services for owner provided strings and cables are provided for a fee. See below service chart for more information regarding rates.
Professional Tune & Lube*
Our Professional Tune & Lube Package ensures your compound bow or crossbow is safe, clean, timed, and optimized for the hunting season. This package is best used on bows 2 years and older or bows used in heavy weather to recondition them for the new year. The full package includes:
- Professional visual riser and limb inspection for cracks and safe operation.
- Professional visual inspection of string and cable remaining lifespan.
- Full bow disassembly of strings, cables, limbs, axles, and cams.
- Clean, oil, and grease: limb bolts, limb pockets, axles.
- Reassembly of bow.
- Adjustment and confirmation of proper string & cable timing.
- Adjustment and confirmation of level nocking point.
Often customers who purchase our Professional Tune & Lube Service choose to add on Paper Tuning at a 20% discount compared to the standard Paper Tuning rate to ensure absolute prime performance!
Basic Compound Bow & Crossbow Inspection Service*
Our basic compound bow and crossbow inspection service ensures your bow is safe and timed properly prior to shooting. This service is best suited for customers whose bow is generally kept in good condition and looking for a quick professional overview as well as cam timing adjustment prior to a new season, or for customers using older bows that have not been shot in awhile looking for an economical way to ensure safe operation prior to light recreational shooting.
Inspection Includes:

*All services are provided for both crossbows and compound bows but certain variances may apply due to the different bow styles.
CUSTOM ARROW BUILDING & FLETCHING RECONDITIONING SERVICES
Arrow/Bolt Reconditioning Fletching Service
Have you been missing the target recently? Our arrow reconditioning services replace old, torn, or missing fletching to get you back in the field without having to purchase new arrows. Pricing for arrow reconditioning includes stripping old or torn vanes from the shaft or bolt, cleaning & shaft prep, and the fletching of new vanes or feathers. If replacing certain stocked Blazer vanes, the cost of the vane is included in the reconditioning price. Customers looking for non-stocked colors or special vanes outside of our stocked Blazer vane options must purchase the vanes separately from the reconditioning service.

CUSTOM FLETCHING FOR NEW ARROWS & BOLTS
Want to build your own custom arrow combination? We provide custom arrow and bolt building services which include professional installation and assembly of: Fletching type and color, Wraps, Arrow Cutting, and Nock and Insert Installation. All custom arrow builds are offered in 12pk configurations only. The customer purchases the dozen shafts, then selects their fletching and wrap options as desired. Certain stocked Blazer vanes are included in the base price. All other vane manufacturers and colors as well as wraps, are purchased separately then installed by our professional team.
Included in the standard base pricing: All stocked Blazer vanes, arrow cutting, insert installation, and nock installation.
Additional add-on options: Wrap purchases and installation, vane selections outside of stocked Blazer vanes, and nock purchases to change nock color to match fletching.

Vanes = $3.25 per arrow 3 fletch
Vanes = $4.00 per arrow 4 fletch
Feathers = $4.25 per arrow

As a true “Pro Shop” our bow techs are not only factory trained, they are true believers. They live the lifestyle and are as passionate about archery as our most avid customers. We produce an extensive training curriculum that keeps our techs at the top of their game. Those with the “Master Bow Tech” insignia have tested out of the program at the highest levels.
JOSH MYERS – MASTER BOW TECH
Josh, our Store Manager, has worked at Freedom Outfitters for 20 Years and has been shooting archery for 32 years, competitively for 25. Josh has seen the podium at the Eastern Sports Outdoor Show as well as on the ASA circuit. As a hunter, Josh claimed two Pope & Young bucks. As a bow tech, Josh is a perfectionist when it comes to arrow building and matching arrow performance to the intended game.
MIKE MYERS – MASTER BOW TECH
Mikey, our legendary bow tech, has worked at Freedom Outfitters for 25 Years after owning his own bow shop in the 80s and 90s. With almost 40 years of recurve, compound bow and crossbow service work under his belt, Mike is a fan favorite. There are many avid Pennsylvania archers who will “wait for Mike” to receive his legendary expertise. Mike has also been building premium custom strings for the past 30 years. Many of the string replacements we do at Freedom Outfitters are custom built Mike Myer’s strings.
DOUG WILLIAMS – MASTER BOW TECH
Doug is a decorated professional archer and avid bow tech. As a perfectionist spot shooter, he can feel the difference a small tweak can make. He has been shooting archery for 40 years, 20 of which professionally. Doug is a 10-time NFAA Outdoor National Champion with numerous state and sectional titles.
