Rebrand Story
Same Employees, Same Ownership, Same Great Customers, NEW BRAND.
Don’t worry, we aren’t going anywhere. We did not sell out to a national conglomerate. Instead, we are combining a collection of family owned local businesses that can offer customers the outstanding product and service they expect while competing with the national companies and still remaining family owned.
In order to better serve our customers and expand our offerings Kinsey’s Outdoors retail has separated from Kinsey’s Inc. distribution and rebranded as FREEDOM to segment itself away from Kinsey’s Inc.’s distribution company. This allows the new company to intently focus on growing its offerings and to expand the customer base by bringing in other predominant local retailers to join as one company. The new FREEDOM company will operate under two brands which include: Freedom Outfitters and Freedom Armory.
This rebrand is part of a multi-year expansion that is now finally being made public.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS:
• Kinsey’s Outdoors acquired Freedom Armory in Glen Rock, York, Pa in June of 2023. The stores operated together but kept their separate branding initially.
• “Kinsey’s Outdoors” officially segments away from Kinsey’s Inc. distribution as a independent company – January 2024
• Kinsey’s Outdoors officially rebranded as Freedom Outfitters in May of 2025
• Freedom Armory in York, is keeping the Freedom Armory name but has also rebranded in May of 2025 to a new look and feel.
The combined entity that will include 2 retail stores and multiple eCommerce websites has created a powerful local retail brand that will offer an outstanding product selection, service, and memberships to customers all over central Pa. Each store was preexisting and the predominate retailer in their respective areas, well known within their communities. By bringing them all together customers will receive a vast offering of not only merchandise but service offerings such as gunsmithing, customization work, bow tech services, ranges, and training centers.
WHAT IS FREEDOM OUTFITTERS?
The Outfitter store (Mount Joy, PA) will focus on the broad outdoorsman including large offerings in archery, firearms, ammunition, clothing, treestands, fishing, and all things hunting. The Freedom Outfitters location is your go to source for a wide selection of hunting and outdoor merchandise, training, contests, and community.
WHAT IS FREEDOM ARMORY?
The Armory location (Glen Rock, PA) will focus on new and used firearms, ammunition, includes indoor firearm ranges, beginner through advanced firearms training classes, as well as recreational shooting, target shooting, and defensive tactical accessories. A general selection of hunt/archery products will remain in specific Amory locations.
